New Delhi, 15 July (H.S.): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will engage in an extensive interaction with women from across the country on the theme of Motherhood Discourse at a special programme organised by Vishwamangalya Sabha. The event will be held on July 24 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, with around 700 women representatives expected to participate.

Addressing a press conference at the Constitution Club on Wednesday, Vishwamangalya Sabha National Organising Secretary Dr. Vrushali Joshi said the interaction would focus on the contemporary relevance of motherhood in the years ahead. She noted that Dr. Bhagwat's dialogue with women on such a large scale would last approximately two to two-and-a-half hours.

During the session, Dr. Bhagwat will share his views on motherhood, family, social development and the role of women in nation-building. A key feature of the programme will be an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the RSS chief and express their views.

Dr. Joshi said the programme holds special historical significance as it is being organised during the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. She stated that, for the first time during the tenure of any of the five RSS Sarsanghchalaks, the organisation's chief will hold an open and comprehensive dialogue with the country's enlightened women on the subject of motherhood.

She said the programme at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi is expected to witness the participation of around 700 to 800 women representatives from Delhi and several states across northern India. The attendees will include distinguished women associated with education, social service, culture, literature, medicine, law, public administration, industry and several other fields.

Dr. Joshi further announced that a similar programme will also be organised in Hyderabad, where around 1,300 representatives are expected to participate. The objective of these dialogue sessions is to facilitate a broad discussion on the role of motherhood in society, the family system, value-based upbringing and the contribution of women to nation-building.

She said the initiative would provide a meaningful platform for women from diverse sections of society to engage in discussions and advance a wider discourse on the social, cultural and national dimensions of motherhood.

Providing details about the organisation, Dr. Joshi said Vishwamangalya Sabha is currently active across 33 organisational regions of the country, with nearly 3,500 office-bearers and around 600,000 women associated with its activities. She added that women's conventions were recently organised in 23 regions, including Delhi, drawing participation from nearly 35,000 women. Based on the feedback and discussions during these conventions, the organisation has resolved to undertake a series of initiatives in the coming years centred on the theme of contemporary motherhood.
