
Guwahati, 11 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the ₹360-crore modernisation project of the Assam State Zoo is progressing steadily, with around 27% of the work already completed. He made the remarks after reviewing the ongoing redevelopment works at the zoo.
The Chief Minister also directed the State Forest Minister to visit some of the country's best zoological parks to study their facilities and adopt global best practices for the Assam State Zoo's transformation.
Sarma said the government is committed to developing the Assam State Zoo into a modern wildlife conservation and visitor destination equipped with world-class infrastructure and enhanced visitor amenities.------------
