
Guwahati, 11 July (HS): Assam Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai on Saturday held a meeting with Tripura Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in Agartala to discuss food security and public distribution reforms.
Held under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the meeting focused on improving the efficiency of the Public Distribution System (PDS), effective implementation of welfare schemes, expansion of service delivery and ensuring better access to food and consumer services.
Both sides exchanged experiences and best practices, expressing confidence that closer cooperation would strengthen the implementation of food and consumer welfare programmes in both states.
Addressing the meeting, Kaushik Rai said inter-state collaboration and knowledge sharing would enhance transparency, efficiency and the reach of public welfare services. He reiterated the government's commitment to achieving the goal of Antyodaya through good governance and coordinated efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The meeting was also attended by Assam Additional Chief Secretary Biswaranjan Samal, Commissioner Hemanta Bhuyan, Tripura Principal Secretary Shantanu and Director Sumit Lodh.----------
