Guwahati, 01 July (HS): A team from Azara Police Station seized 11 cartons of illegal Burmese cigarettes valued at over ₹10 lakh in the black market during an operation near Azara Police Station.

Guwahati Police Commissionerate on Wednesday said that the police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number AS32C0246 and recovered the contraband. Two persons, identified as Suresh Goswami (21) of Churu, Rajasthan and Pawan Gosai (19) of Bikaner, Rajasthan, were arrested in connection with the case.

Police said legal action has been initiated against the accused and further investigation is underway.------------
