Guwahati, 08 June (HS): The Special Fast Track Court on Monday rejected the bail applications of four accused persons in the Zubeen murder case, namely Amritprabha Mahanta, Sandipan Garg, Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya.

The court's decision came on the first day of the trial proceedings, which formally commenced on Monday. The case has drawn significant public attention and the trial is expected to proceed with the examination of witnesses and presentation of evidence in the coming days.

Reacting to the court's order, Zubeen's wife Garima Saikia Garg expressed confidence in the judicial process and said that the accused would receive the strictest punishment if found guilty. She stated that the victim's family has faith in the court and hopes justice will be delivered.
