The domestic bullion market continued to witness a sharp downward trend on Sunday, with gold and silver prices declining significantly across most parts of the country. Except for Chennai, gold prices fell by between ₹2,740 and ₹2,960 per 10 grams. In Chennai, the yellow metal recorded a decline ranging from ₹2,490 to ₹2,740 per 10 grams. Despite the fall, Chennai remained the most expensive market for gold in the country. Silver prices also weakened sharply, dropping by as much as ₹9,900 per kilogram.
On a weekly basis, gold prices registered substantial losses during the past trading week. The price of 24-carat gold fell by as much as ₹4,690 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold became cheaper by up to ₹4,300 per 10 grams. Silver also witnessed a major correction, declining by as much as ₹15,000 per kilogram compared to the previous week's levels.
Following the latest decline, 24-carat gold is trading between ₹152,760 and ₹154,910 per 10 grams in bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold is being sold in the range of ₹140,000 to ₹142,000 per 10 grams. Silver prices have also eased, with the metal trading at ₹265,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold is trading at ₹152,910 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is priced at ₹140,150 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, 24-carat gold is available at ₹152,760 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹140,000 per 10 grams. In Ahmedabad, retail prices stand at ₹152,810 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and ₹140,050 per 10 grams for 22-carat gold.
Among other major cities, 24-carat gold in Chennai is trading at ₹154,910 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is priced at ₹142,000 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold is selling at ₹152,760 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹140,000 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold is priced at ₹152,810 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is available at ₹140,050 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold is trading at ₹152,910 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹140,150 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold is selling at ₹152,810 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is priced at ₹140,050 per 10 grams. The downward trend in gold prices was also visible in the southern and eastern states. In Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold is trading at ₹152,760 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is being sold at ₹140,000 per 10 grams. The decline reflects broad-based weakness across the domestic bullion market, affecting both gold and silver prices.
