June (HS): The National Care Foundation’s Cancer Hospital faced cyber attack
for a huge ransom to retrieve the data. The attacker has locked the data by
interfering in the main server of the hospital. The attacker has demanded
ransom of 123456 Bitcoin, which comes to around Rs 75 lakh.
The valuable
data including details of patients’ information has been hacked. The
information system is totally stopped functioning.
The technical
error was detected on June 1. The demand for ranson was seen while searching
for the fault. A complaint was lodged with the Cyber Cell of Ramnagar Police
Station. Further investigation was in progress.
