
Guwahati, June 29 (HS): The Assam Government has increased the annual allocation under the Member of Legislative Assembly Local Area Development (MLALAD) Scheme from ₹1 crore to ₹1.5 crore per MLA for the financial year 2026-27. The allocation will be further enhanced to ₹2 crore per MLA annually from 2027-28 onwards.
The revised guidelines also expand the scope of the scheme by allowing expenditure on sports equipment, furniture, medical equipment, assistive devices for Divyangjan, electrical fittings and cultural or religious community equipment within 10% of the annual allocation. The new provisions have come into effect immediately.------------
