New Delhi, 27 June (H.S.): Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk will begin an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi from Sunday, demanding the resignation and accountability of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak case.

The announcement was made by Abhijeet Dipke, chief of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), through a post on social media platform X. The hunger strike will form part of the ongoing protest being organised by the CJP at Jantar Mantar.

Earlier, in a video message posted on social media, Sonam Wangchuk had said that he would wait until June 27 for the government's response. He stated that if the government failed to provide a positive response regarding reforms in the education system or measures to protect Ladakh's environment and cultural heritage, he would begin an indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar from June 28.

The CJP has appealed to young people and citizens across the country to gather at Jantar Mantar on June 28 and express solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk and the campaign.
