New Delhi, 25 June (H.S.): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilisers Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting, held at the Union Minister's residence, featured detailed discussions on a range of departmental and contemporary issues, including public health, medical infrastructure, pharmaceuticals and the fertiliser sector.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai informed the Union Minister that the Chhattisgarh government has been consistently working towards expanding and strengthening healthcare services across the state. He said special emphasis is being placed on improving access to quality healthcare facilities in remote, rural and tribal areas through the strengthening of hospitals, medical colleges and other healthcare institutions.
Sai stated that the state government's objective is to ensure that residents of Chhattisgarh have access to advanced medical treatment and modern healthcare facilities within the state itself, reducing the need to seek treatment elsewhere.
The two leaders also discussed issues related to agriculture and the fertiliser sector. The Chief Minister informed Nadda that the state government has issued clear directives to ensure the timely and adequate availability of fertilisers and seeds to farmers.
He said efforts are being made to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulties during the ongoing kharif season and that the supply of essential agricultural inputs remains uninterrupted across the state.
Sai further stated that officials have been instructed to maintain continuous monitoring of the fertiliser distribution system. He stressed that any instances of black marketing, hoarding or negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state's efforts to promote modern agricultural practices. He said directions have been issued to conduct village-level outreach campaigns to connect farmers with advanced farming techniques and encourage the adoption of new technologies.
Informing the Union Minister about ongoing initiatives in sustainable agriculture, Sai said the state government is actively promoting the use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP. Extensive awareness campaigns are being conducted to educate farmers about the benefits of these products, with the aim of enhancing productivity, reducing input costs and making farming more profitable.
Sai noted that the Chhattisgarh government is working continuously, with the full support of the Centre, to accelerate development in the fields of healthcare, agriculture and public welfare. He added that coordination between the state and central governments is being further strengthened to ensure the state's overall development.
Union Minister Nadda appreciated the efforts being undertaken by the Chhattisgarh government to expand healthcare services, safeguard farmers' interests and implement welfare-oriented initiatives. He assured the Chief Minister of all possible support from the Central Government in the areas of healthcare and other developmental sectors.
