Mumbai, 24 June (HS): Following a temporary operational
hiccup caused by soil erosion beneath the rails due to the city's recent rains,
train service on the Trans-Harbour line resumed on Wednesday morning. The
rains, which have been falling in bursts since Tuesday evening, have caused in
the cancelation of 24 trains and continued speed limits between Turbhe and
Vashi.According to an official report from Central Railway, 24 trains have been
canceled as a result of a track damage event on Mumbai Local's Trans Harbour
line. Though traffic has resumed in the affected area following repairs, speed
is restricted due to caution on the impacted stretch of the trans-harbour line
between Turbhe and Vashi.
The event occurred after torrential rains that drenched
Mumbai on Tuesday and Wednesday, creating significant waterlogging in various
low-lying neighborhoods and prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD)
to issue an Orange Alert for the city. Meanwhile, Mumbai had heavy rain
throughout the night, causing significant waterlogging in various low-lying

Raigad, Palghar, and Sindhudurg during a brief nowcast window, asking residents
to take measures. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC),
