Mumbai, 23 June (HS): Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra's Deputy
Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader, restated the party's support for the
Uniform Civil Code (UCC) on Tuesday, emphasizing the need of equitable justice.
As I previously stated, Balasaheb Thackeray has long supported the
Uniform Civil Code; now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shares this perspective,
as does the Shiv Sena. The Shiv Sena believes that there is a need for a
Uniform Civil Code in the country and that everyone should be treated
equally, Shinde remarked.
Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane also voiced his support for the initiative,
emphasizing the importance of properly executing constitutional principles. He
replied, How can those who abide by our Constitution, which mentions the
UCC, oppose it? How can you argue against the Constitution if you embrace
it? If you want Sharia law, it is not implemented in our nation; thus,
individuals who demand Sharia law should relocate to a country where it is in
effect. Our Constitution shall be followed in its entirety. Rane commented on
six MPs leaving Uddhav Thackeray's side to join the Shiv Sena led by Eknath
Shinde, stating, They realized that Uddhav Thackeray has become Uddhav
Khan...They chose to pursue the Hindutva route.”
