Srinagar, 18 June (H.S.): In a significant political development, three prominent former bureaucrats formally joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today in the presence of party president, Mehbooba Mufti.

The joining ceremony was attended by PDP general secretary MR Qureshi, District president Rajouri Anjum Mirza, District president Poonch Shamim Ganai, senior leaders Khurshid Alam and Ex- MLA Qamar Choudhary.

Among those who joined the party were former Deputy Commissioner and Director, Bashir Khan, former Chief Executive Officer Bashir Ahmed Dar, and retired Tehsildar Khurshid Tantray. They were warmly welcomed into the party fold by Mehbooba Mufti and other PDP functionaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehbooba Mufti expressed confidence that the experience, administrative expertise and public outreach of the newly inducted members would significantly strengthen the party at the grassroots level. She said that PDP remains committed to addressing the concerns of the people and working for peace, development and restoration of democratic rights in Jammu and Kashmir.

The newly joined leaders also shared their views and reaffirmed their commitment to serving the people through the PDP platform. They appreciated the party’s vision and pledged to contribute towards strengthening its organizational structure across the Union Territory.
