New Delhi, 17 June (H.S.): India and Thailand reviewed all aspects of their bilateral defence cooperation during the 10th India-Thailand Defence Dialogue held in Bangkok. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global security issues of mutual interest.

The dialogue was co-chaired by Admiral Nattapol Dieawvanich, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence of Thailand, and Satyajit Mohanty, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. During the meeting, both sides discussed the evolving security environment in the Indo-Pacific region and shared their perspectives on key regional developments. They reiterated the importance of strengthening cooperation to promote peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.

The delegations reviewed the progress achieved in bilateral defence cooperation since the previous dialogue. Discussions covered ongoing military engagement, capacity-building initiatives, training exchanges, maritime cooperation, and other areas of mutual interest.

The dialogue also reviewed the ongoing defence industry collaboration between the two countries. Both sides explored opportunities to further deepen cooperation in defence manufacturing, research, innovation, and capability development with the objective of promoting mutually beneficial partnerships between their respective defence establishments.

The delegations also exchanged views on cooperation under regional and multilateral defence frameworks, including mechanisms led by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening practical cooperation and addressing shared security challenges through continued dialogue and collaboration.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to pursue future activities aimed at further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.
