Four Accused in Kidnapping-Robbery Case Arrested

Within 48 Hours

Panchkula, 17 June (H.S.): Panchkula Police

have claimed to have solved the Pinjore kidnapping and robbery case within 48

hours after arresting all four accused. Two of the accused were arrested

earlier, while the remaining two were nabbed after an encounter with police in

the Barwala-Alipur Industrial Area on Wednesday.

DCP Crime Amarinder Singh shared details of the case

during a press conference. He said that on June 15, four youths had allegedly

kidnapped a person in the Pinjore police station area and robbed him. The

accused reportedly snatched Rs 17,000 to Rs 18,000 in cash and a mobile phone

from the victim. Following the incident, police registered a case of kidnapping

and robbery and launched an investigation.

According to the DCP, two accused had already been

arrested in the case, while the search for the remaining two was underway.

Crime Branch Sector-19 received secret information that the two accused were

present in the Alipur area of Barwala. When the police team reached the spot to

arrest them, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police.

DCP Amarinder Singh said the accused fired two rounds at

the police team, but the personnel escaped as they were wearing bulletproof

jackets. In retaliation, police fired three rounds, out of which two bullets

hit the accused in their legs. Both were then overpowered and taken into

custody.

The arrested accused have been identified as Yogesh

Kumar and Deepesh Kumar, residents of Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri, respectively.

Police said both have a criminal background. Cases of kidnapping and assault

are registered against Deepesh, while serious cases and an Arms Act case are

registered against Yogesh in Gurugram.

The DCP said Yogesh is linked to the Rohit Godara gang

and was allegedly involved in supplying weapons for the gang. During

investigation, it came to light that he had also supplied weapons in Gurugram.

Police are now trying to find out whether the accused were planning to commit

any other crime.

After the encounter, both injured accused were admitted

to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 for treatment. They will be questioned after

their medical treatment is completed.

Police recovered a Scorpio vehicle, a pistol and two live cartridges from

their possession. DCP Crime said all four accused involved in the

kidnapping-robbery case have been arrested within 48 hours. He also stated that

all four accused are students. Deepesh is a Class 12 student, while Yogesh is

pursuing a diploma. Police expect more important revelations during further

interrogation.
