
Bundelkhand University sets new standards for tech-based
examination conduct
Lucknow, 17 June (HS): The results of the Uttar Pradesh
Joint B.Ed. Entrance Examination-2026 were announced by State Higher Education
Minister Yogendra Upadhyay in the library building of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia
National Law University, Lucknow. Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni
Tiwari, Vice Chancellor of Bundelkhand University Prof. Mukesh Pandey, Vice
Chancellor of RML Law University Prof. Amarpal Singh, and Principal Secretary
of Higher Education M.K. Agrawal were present on the occasion.
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, Minister of
State Rajni Tiwari, Vice Chancellors, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries
spoke to the toppers of the Uttar Pradesh Joint B.Ed. Entrance Examination-2026
via video call and wished them well and enquired about their future plans.
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya congratulated
all the successful candidates, stating that by passing the exam, they have set
the course for their future. He added that this achievement was achieved
through the sacrifice of their parents and the guidance of their teachers. We
must remain dedicated to our nation with the spirit of Guru Devo Bhava,
Matru Devo Bhava, Pitri Devo Bhava. Patriotism is not just the
responsibility of soldiers, but the duty of every citizen. True patriotism is
fulfilling the responsibilities bestowed by society with honesty, hard work,
and dedication.
Congratulating Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, he said that
the university combined technology and AI to conduct exams through an
impenetrable system. This sets an example of how exams should be conducted with
integrity, transparency, and confidentiality. Since the Yogi government came to
power, Lucknow, Bareilly, and now Jhansi universities have improved the level
of education by conducting B.Ed. exams. Previously, there was talk of
encouraging cheating, but now, with the integration of technology, exams are
becoming free of cheating.
Minister of State for Higher Education, Rajni Tiwari, said
that today is a day of joy for B.Ed. students. She congratulated all the
successful candidates, saying that their knowledge, experience, and dedication
will set them apart. She congratulated Bundelkhand University and its team for
the successful conduct of the examination.
Exam Details: The Uttar Pradesh government entrusted
Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, with the responsibility of conducting the
state-level Joint B.Ed. Entrance Examination 2026. The university conducted the
examination on May 31, 2026, in two shifts: from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and
from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 1,011 examination centers in 72 districts of
the state, with complete integrity, transparency, and confidentiality.
A total of 444,958 candidates were registered for the B.Ed.
entrance exam, including 272,659 women, 172,297 men, and 2 transgender
candidates. Category-wise, 236,272 were general, 132,217 were Other Backward
Classes, 72,128 were Scheduled Castes, 1,341 were Scheduled Tribes, and 2,448
were persons with disabilities.
400,499 candidates appeared in the first shift and 400,756
in the second. Overall attendance was approximately 90 percent. Kasganj and
Pilibhit had the highest attendance at 95 percent, while Ghaziabad and Gautam
Buddha Nagar had the lowest at 84 percent.
Unprecedented use of technology: A high-tech command control
room was established for the exam and live monitoring of 1,011 centers in 72
districts was carried out through the ICCC (Integrated Command Control Center).
More than 22,000 CCTV cameras and 5,651 biometric machines were installed. Face
recognition and fingerprint attendance of all candidates were performed using
Artificial Intelligence and the Real Time Biometric Attendance System.
Strong rooms, examination halls, and entry/exit points were
monitored by AI-enabled CCTV. A VoIP-based system established real-time
connectivity with all centers. University representatives were provided with
GPS-based body-borne cameras. Four candidates were found using unfair means
during the exam, and their results were canceled.
Results: Scoring was done through double scanning and image
scanning of OMR answer sheets during the exam. Ranks were issued to a total of
400,107 candidates, including 153,612 men, 246,494 women, and 1 transgender.
This includes 248,452 candidates from the Arts stream, 128,018 from the Science
stream, 20,514 from the Commerce stream, and 3,771 from the Agriculture stream.
Toppers: Among the candidates who secured positions in the
first 10, there are 04 men and 06 women. Vandana Singh (Science stream) from
Aligarh district secured first position in the state, Nitin Pachauri (Science
stream) from Aligarh secured second position and Mishra Khushi Ajay (Science
stream) from Jaunpur secured third position. On this occasion, Chief Advisor
Prof. S.P. Singh, State Coordinator Prof. Saurabh Srivastava, Co-State
Coordinator Prof. D.K. Bhatt and Prof. Kavya Dubey, Registrar Gyanendra Kumar,
Controller of Examinations Raj Bahadur, Finance Officer Pramod Kumar Singh
along with other teachers and staff of the university were present.
