Kanpur, 16 June
(HS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, former Union Minister, and MP
Anurag Thakur arrived in Kanpur on Tuesday. He launched a scathing attack on
the opposition and the Trinamool Congress. He said that the opposition has
always opposed the Ram Temple and is still attempting to politicize the issue.
Regarding the controversy surrounding offerings at the Ram Temple, he said that
the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the matter and strict
action will be taken against those responsible once the investigation is
complete.
Upon arriving in Kanpur, Anurag Thakur was welcomed
at various locations. He first visited the residence of Uttar Pradesh Assembly
Speaker Satish Mahana and met him. BJP workers greeted him. He then
participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the temple complex in Paramat. He
then visited the Baba Anandeshwar Temple and offered prayers.
Speaking to reporters, Anurag Thakur, referring to
West Bengal politics, said that for years there was an atmosphere of fear and
corruption. He alleged that the Trinamool Congress's rule fostered hooliganism,
but now action is being taken against those involved in corruption and crime.
He said that a positive environment is being created for Bengal's development
and the people want change.
On the question of financial disputes related to
the Ram Temple, he said that the temple trust had demanded an investigation
into the matter. Following this, the Uttar Pradesh government formed an SIT.
The investigation is being conducted impartially. Once the truth is revealed,
those responsible will be prosecuted as per the law.
Anurag Thakur said
that those who opposed the Ram Temple movement for years are still trying to
gain political advantage from this issue, but the people of the country are
watching and understanding everything. He expressed confidence that when the
truth comes out, all the facts will be revealed and the culprits will not be
spared.
