Lucknow, 14 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath strongly promotes voluntary blood donation, frequently referring to

it as mahadaan (the greatest contribution) to save lives. Blood

donation drives are common in the state, with several conducted in various

districts around the CM's birthday and World Blood Donor Day. CM Yogi has often

urged residents and youngsters to dispel illusions about blood donation,

emphasizing that one unit of blood may save numerous lives and is a wonderful,

altruistic gesture. To close the gap between blood supply and demand, the state

government is constantly improving blood storage facilities and encouraging

voluntary donations.

In a post on X, he mentioned, “Blood Donation - The Great

Donation' - This sacred act not only provides new life to someone but also

represents the truest and greatest service to humanity. Heartfelt

congratulations and best wishes to all esteemed blood donors who play the role

of 'Life Savers' on 'World Blood Donor Day'.”
