Guwahati, 13 June (HS): The Assam Legislative Assembly will begin its next session on July 6, with the proceedings likely to continue for a minimum of 25 days, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Saturday after a Cabinet meeting at Assam Lok Bhawan.

Briefing reporters, the Chief Minister said the upcoming session will be significant as the state government is set to place the full Budget for the financial year 2026-27 before the House. Finance Minister Jayanta Mallabarua will present the Budget, detailing the government's expenditure plans and policy priorities for the coming year.

Dr. Sarma also stated that beneficiaries across the state will start receiving the advantages of various government welfare schemes from August. He noted that the administration is taking necessary steps to ensure smooth and timely rollout of the programmes.

The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing the media following the Cabinet meeting held in Dispur on Saturday.-----------
