Lucknow, 11 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath routinely pays respect to Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, the heroic
freedom warrior and eternal martyr, on his birth and martyrdom anniversary. The
state government preserves historical sites related to Bismil's birthplace in
Shahjahanpur and martyrdom site at Gorakhpur Jail. Through tweets and events,
CM Yogi commemorates Bismil's contributions to the nation on an ongoing basis.
Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil was born in the city of Shahjahanpur. On December 19,
1927, he was executed at Gorakhpur Jail for his role in the Kakori Train
Action. CM Yogi, while criticizing past administrations in the House, recalled
an example in which the previous government's education minister mistook
Bismil's Martyrdom Day with Bismillah Khan.
In a post on X, he mentioned, “On the birth anniversary of
the great hero of the 'Kakori Train Action', the immortal revolutionary of the
freedom struggle, Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, humble tribute. Your unparalleled
devotion to the motherland and unparalleled sacrifice inspire us all to
continuously march forward on the path of national service.”
