India's domestic bullion market witnessed a sharp decline during early trading on Thursday, with both gold and silver prices registering substantial losses across major cities. Amid weakening sentiment, gold prices fell by ₹3,970 to ₹4,320 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country, while Chennai recorded a steeper decline ranging between ₹4,020 and ₹4,380 per 10 grams. Silver prices also came under significant pressure, dropping by as much as ₹10,000 per kilogram.
Following the decline, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹1,48,850 and ₹1,50,540 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was selling in the range of ₹1,36,440 to ₹1,37,990 per 10 grams. Silver prices also weakened considerably, with the metal trading at ₹2,49,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
In the national capital, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹1,49,000 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,36,590 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,48,850 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,36,440 per 10 grams.
Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,48,900 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at ₹1,36,490 per 10 grams.
Among other major markets, Chennai recorded 24-carat gold prices at ₹1,50,540 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,37,990 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,48,850 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,36,440 per 10 grams.
In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹1,48,900 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,36,490 per 10 grams. Jaipur witnessed 24-carat gold trading at ₹1,49,000 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at ₹1,36,590 per 10 grams.
Patna reported 24-carat gold prices of ₹1,48,900 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold prices of ₹1,36,490 per 10 grams. In Lucknow, 24-carat gold was selling at ₹1,49,000 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹1,36,590 per 10 grams.
Gold prices also remained weak in southern and eastern Indian markets. In Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,48,850 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,36,440 per 10 grams in all three cities.
The sharp correction in precious metal prices comes amid changing market dynamics and profit-booking activity, leading to a broad-based decline in bullion rates across the country.
