Riyadh, 08 May (H.S.): Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo etched another historic milestone on Thursday by scoring his 100th goal in the Saudi Pro League, propelling Al-Nasr to a commanding 4-2 triumph over Al-Shabab and solidifying their lead at the top of the standings.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo netted in the 75th minute with a superb finish from Sadio Mane's cross, marking his 971st career goal and bringing his current-season league tally to 26.
Al-Nasr's head coach Jorge Jesus praised post-match: “Ronaldo remains a constant threat in attack, and he proved it once again today.”
Joao Felix shone brightly in the fixture, bagging a hat-trick since joining from Chelsea in July, where he continues to exhibit exceptional form.
This victory elevates Al-Nasr to 82 points from 32 matches, five points clear of second-placed Al-Hilal, who have three games in hand.
Al-Nasr's next clash against arch-rivals Al-Hilal looms as pivotal in the title race. Coach Jesus added: “This derby is crucial. We're preparing with full focus, as small moments can decide the outcome.”
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who joined Al-Nasr in December 2022, is yet to secure a major trophy in Saudi Arabia.
