- Completely Destroyed 9 Terror Camps in Pakistan, Demolished 11 Airfields, Shot Down 13 Aircraft
Jaipur, May 7 (HS): On the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army stated in unequivocal terms that India's actions against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism are not merely a military operation but a signal of a new strategic policy for national security. The Army firmly declared that no terrorist hideout in Pakistan is safe anymore, and Operation Sindoor is not over—it marks the beginning of India's decisive war against terrorism.
Senior officers from the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy provided detailed information on the strategy, achievements, and impacts of Operation Sindoor during a joint press conference held on Thursday at the South Western Command in Jaipur. The Army described this campaign as India's most comprehensive and coordinated military operation against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism in recent decades.
The press conference was attended by Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations) Lieutenant General Jubin A. Minwalla, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Director General Air Operations Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar, and Director General Naval Operations Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod, among other senior military officials. Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai stated that Operation Sindoor proved 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' is not just a slogan but a real capability multiplying India's military strength several times over. He revealed that over 65 percent of defense equipment currently used by the Indian Army is manufactured domestically.
Rajiv Ghai said the operation launched on May 7, 2025, targeted seven major terrorist sites by the Army and two by the Indian Air Force. These actions inflicted heavy damage on terrorist camps, with confirmation of over 100 terrorists killed. He claimed more than 100 Pakistani soldiers were also killed in subsequent skirmishes along the Line of Control. Ghai noted that Pakistan had long considered its terrorist infrastructure safe, but Operation Sindoor shattered this notion completely. Despite attempts to relocate camps and shift them deeper inland, Indian Army's reach and capabilities remained unaffected.
During the conference, quoting poet Dushyant Kumar, Rajiv Ghai said, Sirf hungama karna mera maksad nahi, meri koshish hai ki ye soorat badalni chahiye. He affirmed India will continue its fight against terrorism and take every necessary step to ensure national security. Ghai emphasized that India achieved its clear strategic objectives without unnecessarily prolonging the conflict. He pointed out that ongoing wars worldwide demonstrate how protracted conflicts can be devastating.
India influenced both Pakistan's risk-taking capacity and willingness through balanced yet intense action.
Air Marshal Avdhesh Kumar stated India always believes in live and let live, but when the desire for peace is mistaken for weakness and restraint for inaction, decisive action becomes essential. He clarified Operation Sindoor had clear objectives with no room for leniency. Terrorist infrastructure active in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was targeted. Indian forces executed highly balanced, precise, and effective joint military operations. The Air Marshal said the first strike at dawn on May 7, 2025, was a direct message of India's collective power and resolve reaching enemy territory.
The Air Marshal claimed no damage to Indian military or civilian infrastructure during the operation. All attacks were effectively neutralized. He detailed that nine terror hideouts in Pakistan were completely destroyed, 11 airfields demolished, and 13 aircraft shot down, including an air warning aircraft targeted from over 300 kilometers away. All evidence of these actions has been presented to the world. The Indian Army's response was not mere retaliation but a powerful example of national self-defense.
Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod revealed that on the night of May 6-7, the Indian Navy conducted precise strikes on terrorist infrastructure in coordination with the Army and Air Force. Due to the Navy's forward deployment, Pakistani naval and air units were forced into defensive postures. Most Pakistani military assets were confined to ports or remained active only near the coastline. He stated Operation Sindoor proved India's ability to respond to provocations with balanced, strategic, and decisive force, while demonstrating terrorist infrastructure and their supporting military structures can be effectively targeted in minimal time.
Lieutenant General Jubin A. Minwalla said during Operation Sindoor, the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) and Akashteer systems were integrated for comprehensive air activity monitoring. Now, an AI-based Defense Strategic Communication Division has been established to counter disinformation and fake news in real-time.
