Guwahati, 04 May (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of the state after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a historic third consecutive mandate in the Assam assembly elections.
In a press conference on Monday addressed to the people of Assam from state BJP headquarters, Sarma thanked citizens for placing their continued trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he said enabled the BJP to achieve a record victory. He described the mandate as a strong endorsement of development, progress, protection of heritage and empowerment initiatives.
The Chief Minister also credited the guidance of BJP national leadership, including party president Nitin Nabin and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with the tireless efforts of party workers, for making the victory possible.
Sarma stated that the massive mandate reflects the aspirations of people across the state—from Barak Valley to Brahmaputra Valley and from Upper Assam to Lower Assam—for inclusive growth and protection of indigenous identity. He emphasized that the victory signifies strong public support for women empowerment, development and safeguarding Assam’s unique cultural heritage.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment, Sarma said efforts would be intensified to transform Assam into one of the top five states in India, while ensuring a developed and secure future for all. He once again extended his heartfelt thanks to the people for their overwhelming support and blessings.------------
