Bathinda, 31 May (H.S.): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra was released from Bathinda

Jail after being granted bail by the court. A large number of supporters

gathered outside the jail to welcome him, celebrating his release with

enthusiasm.

Speaking to the media after his release,

Pathanmajra claimed that he had been falsely implicated due to political and

personal reasons. He said that despite spending nearly a year in jail, no

charges against him had been proven. “Today, truth has prevailed,” he remarked.

Pathanmajra also referred to the mining-related

case against him, alleging that no witness had come forward to support the

accusations. He stated that if the party leadership had any doubts about him, they

could have addressed the matter directly through dialogue. The MLA further

highlighted development issues in his Sanour constituency, claiming that

several projects suffered due to a lack of adequate government funding.

He asserted that his political relevance

remains intact and claimed that several political parties are still in touch

with him. Emphasizing his honesty and public support, he said the people

continue to stand by him.

FIR had been registered against Pathanmajra at

Patiala Civil Lines Police Station under charges including rape, cheating and

criminal intimidation. He was later arrested in Karnal, Haryana. According to

police, an incident involving firing and stone-pelting occurred during the

operation, leaving a police officer injured.

His anticipatory bail plea was earlier

rejected by the court, and in December 2025 he was declared a proclaimed

offender. Reports had also surfaced that he had fled to Australia, following

which a lookout notice was issued against him.
