Guwahati, 31 May (HS): Allegations of large-scale irregularities in appointments made during the tenure of former Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary have surfaced, leading to the termination of several employees from the Assembly Secretariat.

According to official sources, a total of 28 employees who were allegedly appointed through irregular procedures have been relieved from service as part of an ongoing administrative review.

The first phase of the action was carried out on May 29, when services of 12 Assembly employees were discontinued. The process continued on Saturday with another 16 employees being relieved from their positions.

The move is being viewed as part of efforts to address alleged irregularities in recruitment and ensure transparency and adherence to established appointment procedures within the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat. Further scrutiny of past appointments is expected as the review process continues.-----------
