29 May (HS): In the financial year 2026-27, the Culture Department has proposed

17 new projects for the establishment, development, and curation of museums.

These projects will include the establishment, upgrading, renovation, and

curation of museums. Government decisions are awaited on some projects, which

will be resolved soon. The establishment of museums will showcase the

district's rare objects and connect new generations to its rich culture and

glorious history.

information was given by Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer

Singh on Friday. He said that an amount of Rs 2250 lakh has been proposed for

the curation work of Gaurav Museum in Gorakhpur district. Similarly, Rs 1500

lakh has been proposed for the establishment and curation work of Children's

Museum, Kannauj, Rs 2450 lakh for the establishment and curation work of the

museum in Farrukhabad district, Rs 1682.58 lakh for the establishment of the

Archaeological Museum in Kasganj district and Rs 5 crore for the establishment

of the museum and library of national poet Maithilisharan Gupt in Chirgaon of

Jhansi district.

Singh said that similarly, the estimated amount for setting up a museum in

Sonbhadra district is Rs 133.55 lakh, Rs 150 crore for upgradation, renovation

and beautification of State Museum, Lucknow through new demand, Rs 150 crore

for upgradation, renovation and beautification of State Museum, Mathura through

new demand. 100 crore rupees for this,

05 crore rupees for the work of curation of the museum under the tourism

development of Maharishi Valmiki Ashram Lalapur Chitrakoot situated in

Chitrakoot district and 05 crore rupees for the work of tourism development and

curation of Tulsipeeth, the birthplace of Saint Shri Tulsidas situated in

village Pahadi of Tehsil Rajapur of Chitrakoot district and Tulsi Memorial in

Rajapur.

Singh informed that Rs. 5 crore has been proposed for the establishment of a

library and curation work in the museum at Hariaudh Kala Kendra, Azamgarh, Rs.

10 crore for the construction of Guru Govind Singh Memorial Institute and

Historical Memorial (Virasat-e-Khalsa) in Lucknow district, and Rs. 25 crore

for the Human Culture Development Museum. Processes are underway at high levels

for the establishment of museums in Ballia, Aligarh, Saharanpur, and Bareilly

districts. This will be resolved soon and further action will be initiated.
