
Thiruvananthapuram, 26 May (H.S.): Kerala Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary examination results were announced on Tuesday, with 77.97 per cent of students qualifying for higher studies. Education Minister N. Shamsudheen declared the results and noted that the overall pass percentage has recorded a marginal improvement compared to the previous year.
This year, a total of 4.52 lakh students appeared for the Higher Secondary examinations, while 26,826 students took the Vocational Higher Secondary (VHSE) examinations. The Plus Two examinations were conducted between March 6 and March 26 across the state.
According to the results announced by the government, 2,90,398 students qualified for higher education. Last year, the pass percentage in the Higher Secondary category stood at 77.81 per cent, while VHSE recorded a pass percentage of 70.06 per cent. Officials said the latest figures indicate a slight improvement in performance.
Among the various streams, Science recorded the highest pass percentage at 84.55 per cent, followed by Commerce at 74.74 per cent and Humanities at 66.38 per cent. A total of 1,58,836 students from the Science stream, 81,147 from Commerce and 50,398 from Humanities became eligible for higher studies.
School-wise data showed aided schools recording the highest pass percentage at 82.82 per cent, while unaided schools registered 78.18 per cent. Government schools reported a pass percentage of 72.66 per cent, while special schools achieved an impressive 85.67 per cent success rate.
The results also highlighted strong individual performances, with 30,561 students securing A+ grades in all subjects — an increase compared to last year. Additionally, 50 girls and 10 boys secured the maximum possible score of 1,200 marks.
District-wise performance showed Idukki recording the highest pass percentage, while Kasaragod registered the lowest. A total of 76 schools achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, including nine government schools and 30 unaided institutions.
Students can access their results through official websites and mobile applications after the formal publication of results. The results are also available through the Kerala government services portal and WhatsApp-based services.
