New Delhi, May 26 (H.S.): The Spring Term Passing Out Parade of the Indian Naval Academy (INA) will be held on May 28 at Ezhimala in Kerala. After completing a long and rigorous journey of military and maritime training, young cadets will begin their new responsibilities as commissioned officers in the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign naval forces.

During the parade, cadets who deliver outstanding performances will be awarded various medals and trophies.

The ceremony will be attended by the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena as the chief guest and reviewing officer.

The Passing Out Parade is regarded as a historic and emotional milestone in the life of every cadet. It is one of the most prestigious military traditions of the Indian Armed Forces, representing an exceptional blend of discipline, pride, and patriotism. Cadets who have successfully completed their rigorous training will march in synchronized steps on the parade ground, symbolizing their full readiness and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s maritime borders and strategic interests.

This Spring Term Passing Out Parade will include trainees from the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard, along with international cadets from three friendly countries — Seychelles, Tanzania, and Vietnam. Their participation highlights India’s unwavering commitment to strengthening global maritime cooperation and defence relations with friendly nations.

Senior defence officials, foreign military attachés, proud parents, as well as instructors and mentors of the Indian Naval Academy will also be present on the occasion, having played a vital role in shaping these young cadets into capable future naval leaders.

Adding further grandeur to the ceremony, cadets who excel during the parade will be awarded medals and trophies. This will be followed by the centuries-old tradition of ‘Shipping of Stripes’, symbolizing the transition from trainee to commissioned officer, during which the newly commissioned officers will be adorned with their rank stripes.

The event will be live-streamed on the official Facebook and YouTube channels of the Indian Navy, allowing audiences worldwide to witness the landmark ceremony virtually.
