ABVP National Executive Council Meeting to Be Held in Bhubaneswar from May 29 to 31

Bhubaneswar, 26 May (H.S.): The National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will be held from May 29 to 31, 2026, at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar, the sacred land of Lord Jagannath. The three-day national-level event will bring together student leaders, academicians and organisational representatives from across the country to deliberate on key educational, organisational, social and national issues.

Addressing a press conference in Bhubaneswar, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said that a total of 484 representatives from different states are expected to participate in the meeting. The delegates will include national office bearers, student leaders from various educational campuses, academicians and karyakartas associated with different organisational dimensions and activities.

Preparatory Meetings on May 27 and 28

Prior to the NEC meeting, the organisation will hold its Central Working Committee Meeting on May 27, with the participation of around 106 karyakartas from across the country. On May 28, ABVP will conduct meetings of various organisational dimensions, activities and forums to review year-long programmes, expansion plans and future strategies.

These sessions will include detailed discussions on initiatives in fields such as sports, arts, service activities, environmental awareness, research, medical education, agriculture, technology, tribal outreach and international student engagement. Organisational leaders will also assess the performance of various units and outline plans for strengthening and expanding activities.

A “Civic Reception Ceremony” will be organised on the eve of the NEC meeting, bringing together current and former ABVP karyakartas, academicians, social leaders and prominent personalities from different fields. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the programme as the Chief Guest. The event is expected to serve as a platform for interaction between student leadership and key stakeholders in education and social development.

During the three-day meeting, extensive discussions will be held on the prevailing national scenario, education system, youth participation in nation-building, national security, and socio-economic challenges. Contemporary issues affecting students and society will also be a major focus area.

The NEC will review the outcomes of the “Akhil Bharatiya Vichar Baithak 2025” and discuss the implementation of decisions taken during the “Sangathanatmak Vichar Baithak 2026”. The meeting will also finalise the action plan for the coming year, including organisational priorities and campaign strategies.

A key agenda will be ensuring student union elections in educational institutions across the country, with participation from student representatives of universities and colleges in the discussions.

The council will also review several ongoing national campaigns, including the “Screen Time to Activity Time Campaign”, “150 Years of Vande Mataram”, “Hostel Survey Campaign”, “Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Birth Centenary Year”, “50 Years of Resistance to Emergency”, “350 Years of the Sacrifice of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur”, and the “650th Prakatyotsav of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Ji”.

Future strategies will be framed to expand outreach and strengthen implementation of these initiatives. The organisation will also focus on membership expansion, campus unit formation and innovative experiments undertaken by various state units to enhance organisational effectiveness.

Discussions will further include National Conference 2026, SEIL Yatra, international student outreach and future programmes across different organisational dimensions. Resolutions on education, social issues, economy, national security and youth-related challenges will be adopted during the meeting.

Dr. Solanki said the NEC meeting will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of ABVP amid emerging challenges and opportunities. He added that holding the meeting in Bhubaneswar would further strengthen organisational energy, ideological clarity and programme expansion.

ABVP National Secretary Kshama Sharma, National Media Convener Harsh Atri, State Secretary Deeptimayi Pratihari and Mahanagar Secretary Gangadhar Padhi were also present at the press conference.
