
New Delhi, May 23 (H.S.): A grand “Tribal Cultural Conclave” aimed at preserving India’s faith, cultural heritage, traditions, and promoting social awareness will be organised in the national capital on Sunday. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the event at around 6:00 p.m. at Red Fort.
According to information shared by the organisers, several prominent personalities and tribal representatives from across the country will attend the programme. Distinguished guests will include National Convener of the Janjati Suraksha Manch and Jashpur (Chhattisgarh) leader Ganeshram Bhagat; organiser of the Janjati Suraksha Manch and Janjati Jagriti Samiti, as well as National Co-Convener of the forum in Jharkhand, Dr. Rajkishore Hansda; President of the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Jashpur chapter, Satyendra Singh Kharwar; along with tribal leaders, saints, and key representatives from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Telangana.
More than 100,000 members of tribal and forest-dwelling communities from forest regions across several states are expected to participate, showcasing their culture, unique traditions, and heritage on the streets of Delhi.
Prior to the conclave, Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal will flag off the “Vanvasi Cultural Procession.” The event will present a vibrant fusion of folk traditions, traditional attire, indigenous dance forms, and music.
The grand procession will commence at 3:00 p.m. from Ajmeri Gate Chowk and pass through several prominent routes, including Ajmeri Gate Bazaar, Hauz Qazi, Chawri Bazaar, Badshah Bula, Nai Sarak, and Ghanta Ghar in Chandni Chowk, before culminating at the Red Fort.
Participants from tribal communities will bring India’s rich and ancient cultural heritage to life through traditional costumes, rare folk dances, and cultural performances. The atmosphere throughout the procession is expected to be filled with music and celebration. Melodious shehnai performances, rhythmic drumbeats, marching bands, and captivating folk presentations by artists will serve as major attractions during the event.
Local residents, traders’ associations, and social organisations along the procession route will welcome the tribal participants with flower showers and traditional greetings.
According to the organisers, the event is not merely a cultural procession but a grand celebration of the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India). They said the conclave will offer a unique glimpse into India’s diversity, centuries-old traditions, and social harmony, while helping connect the younger generation with the nation’s cultural roots.
