Itanagar, 02 May (HS): The district administration of Dibang Valley district on Saturday formally commenced the house listing and housing census process for 2027 at the Circuit House in Anini, marking the beginning of an extensive district-wide enumeration drive.
The programme was inaugurated by Assistant Director of the District Census Office, Mandeep Raj, who flagged off the field enumeration activities in the presence of officials and enumerators. In a symbolic gesture, the official residence of Deputy Commissioner Bekir Nyorak, Dibang House, was included as the first entry to launch the process.
Scheduled from May 1 to May 30, 2026, the exercise aims to cover every household across the district to generate an accurate and comprehensive socio-economic profile. Officials said the data collected will serve as a crucial foundation for informed planning, inclusive development and responsive policymaking at both state and national levels.
In this regard, Additional District Census Officer Tadang Rai appealed to residents to extend full cooperation to enumerators. He urged citizens to provide accurate information and necessary assistance to ensure that the census reflects the true demographic and socio-economic status of the district.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accuracy and participatory governance, the district administration has called upon all residents to actively take part in the exercise, describing it as a vital initiative that not only counts households but also helps shape the roadmap for future development.------------
