– Gold Still Gains Up to ₹6,540 Per 10 Grams on Weekly Basis

New Delhi, May 17 (HS): The downward trend in the domestic bullion market continued on Saturday, with prices of both gold and silver witnessing further declines across the country. Except for Chennai, most bullion markets recorded a fall in gold prices ranging between ₹890 and ₹970 per 10 grams. In Chennai, however, gold prices registered only a marginal decline of ₹140 to ₹160 per 10 grams. Similar to gold, silver prices also witnessed a sharp fall of up to ₹9,900 per kilogram during today’s trading session.

Due to weakness in spot gold prices in the domestic bullion market, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹1,56,930 and ₹1,60,910 per 10 grams across most parts of the country. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of ₹1,43,850 to ₹1,47,500 per 10 grams. Likewise, silver prices also continued their decline for the third consecutive day, with the precious metal trading at ₹2,80,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.

On a weekly basis, however, both gold and silver recorded gains during the previous week’s trading. Prices of 24-carat gold rose by as much as ₹6,540 per 10 grams over the week. Similarly, 22-carat gold became costlier by up to ₹6,470 per 10 grams on a weekly basis. Despite the continuous decline over the last three trading sessions, silver prices also registered an overall weekly increase, rising by as much as ₹5,000 per kilogram.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading today at ₹1,57,080 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,44,000 per 10 grams. In the country’s financial capital Mumbai, 24-carat gold was selling at ₹1,56,930 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹1,43,850 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,56,980 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,43,900 per 10 grams.

Apart from these major cities, 24-carat gold in Chennai was being sold at ₹1,60,910 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,47,500 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,56,930 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,43,850 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,56,980 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at ₹1,43,900 per 10 grams.

In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,57,080 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,44,000 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,56,980 per 10 grams, whereas 22-carat gold was selling at ₹1,43,900 per 10 grams. In Lucknow’s bullion market, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,57,080 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at ₹1,44,000 per 10 grams.

Like several other states across the country, bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana, and Odisha also witnessed a declining trend in gold prices today. In the capital cities of Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹1,56,930 per 10 grams. Similarly, in all three cities, 22-carat gold was being sold at ₹1,43,850 per 10 grams.
