
New Delhi, 15 May (H.S.): The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has commenced the application process for the Post‑Graduate Diploma in Urdu Journalism. According to a notification issued by IIMC on Friday, the institute has started the online admission process for the Urdu Journalism Post‑Graduate Diploma programme for the academic session 2026–27. Interested candidates may apply online until 26 May 2026.
The institute has stated that application forms are available on its official website.
Admission to the programme will be through an entrance examination to be held on 1 June 2026 at the IIMC headquarters in New Delhi. As per Professor (Dr.) Sangita Pranawendra, Course Director for Urdu Journalism, the exam will be conducted from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The entrance test will include questions on general knowledge as well as on media and communication‑related topics.
Candidates who have secured a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible to apply. Students appearing in the final year or final semester of their undergraduate programme may also apply. However, selected candidates will be required to submit their provisional mark sheet or certificate by 30 September 2026. Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Post‑Graduate Diploma.
Regarding age limits, candidates belonging to the General category must have been born on or after 1 August 2001. For Other Backward Classes (OBC), the cut‑off date is 1 August 1998, and for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, the limit is 1 August 1996.
