Kolkata, 14 May (H.S.) : The results of this year’s West Bengal Higher Secondary Examination will be announced on Thursday. Partha Karmakar, President of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, will formally declare the results at 10:30 AM.

Students will be able to access their results online from 11 AM by entering their roll number and registration number on official result portals. The websites hosting the results include result.wb.gov.in, IndiaResults, Shiksha Results and MarksBee Results.

Mark sheets and certificates will be distributed through respective schools. The Higher Secondary Council will hand over the documents to school principals or their representatives through 56 distribution centres across the state.

According to sources in the Higher Education Department, the state government is preparing to begin the undergraduate admission process through a unified admission portal from May 20 following the publication of the Higher Secondary results. The move comes a day after the Central Board of Secondary Education announced Class 12 results on Wednesday.

However, officials said the launch of the portal would require approval from Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, as the state Education Minister has not yet taken oath.

This year, the Higher Secondary examinations were conducted in three different formats simultaneously — the fourth semester examination under the new system, supplementary examinations for the third semester, and examinations under the old annual system.

A total of 7 lakh 10 thousand 811 candidates registered for the examination this year. Of them, 6 lakh 35 thousand 864 students appeared in the final semester examination, while 59 thousand 452 students took the supplementary examination for the second semester. Another 15 thousand 495 candidates appeared under the old examination system.
