New Delhi, 12 May (H.S.): Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Axar Patel has been fined ₹12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during the match against Punjab Kings (PBKS). This Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter was played on 11 May 2026 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, where Delhi secured a thrilling 3-wicket victory.

The action was taken under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct for breaching minimum over-rate regulations. As this was Delhi Capitals' first over-rate offence of the season, captain Axar Patel was imposed a fine of ₹12 lakh.

In the match, Punjab Kings batted first and posted 210 for 5 in 20 overs. In response, Delhi Capitals chased down the target, scoring 216 for 7 in 19 overs to claim the win.

Delhi's victory was powered by captain Axar Patel and David Miller's match-defining half-centuries. Axar Patel completed his fifty with a boundary. Young all-rounder Madhav Tiwari also delivered an outstanding performance with both bat and ball, playing a crucial role in the team's success.

With this win, Delhi Capitals created history by chasing 211 at the Dharamshala ground—the highest successful run chase ever recorded on this venue.
