New Delhi, 12 May (H.S.): Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Tuesday that the Central Government has fully implemented the four new labour codes. He added that the present government is both pro‑poor and pro‑industry.

Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Annual Business Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Mandaviya stated that labour and industry must complement each other and align with the ongoing changes to work effectively together. The Union Minister explained that the government has reduced the compliance burden on industries while expanding social security coverage for workers.

Addressing the summit, themed “Next‑Generation Labour Reforms: Accelerating Industrial Growth and Job Creation,” Mandaviya said social security coverage has expanded from about 29 crore people a decade ago to nearly 94 crore people today.

Highlighting the new labour codes, he said the reforms are both worker‑centric and industry‑centric, and that the government is committed to protecting the interests of the poor and farmers while remaining supportive of industry. He emphasised that industry and labour must move forward together towards a shared future.
