Prayagraj,
April 8 (HS): A major milestone has been achieved in the rehabilitation of
Bridge No. 136 (over the Kali River), situated on the Shikohabad-Farrukhabad
rail section under the Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway. The
re-girdering work for all 10 spans of this bridge has been successfully
completed using the 18.3-meter standard steel girders prescribed by the RDSO.
It
is noteworthy that the Kali River maintains a continuous flow of water
throughout the year, which posed a significant geographical challenge for this
undertaking. To execute this project, continuous coordination was maintained
with the Irrigation Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Only after
the river's water level was brought under control were two massive road
cranes—each with a lifting capacity of 500 tons—safely deployed onto the
riverbank to carry out the girder replacement process.
With
the completion of this critical project, it will now be possible to raise the
speed limit for trains operating on this section, thereby making train
operations smoother and more punctual. This achievement is a testament to the expert
guidance of the General Manager, North Central Railway, Naresh Pal Singh, and
the visionary leadership of the Divisional Railway Manager (Prayagraj),
Rajneesh Agarwal. The successful execution of this project was carried out by
the Bridge Line Team, led by the Deputy Chief Engineer (Bridge Line), I.P.S.
Yadav. Throughout this process, this complex task was executed with the utmost
safety and precision, thanks to the exceptional coordination and cooperation
among the Engineering, Electrical, and Operations departments of the Prayagraj
Division.
