Guwahati, 08 April (HS): Twelve foreign delegates from Election Management Bodies of seven countries, along with three representatives of the Election Commission of India, arrived on Wednesday at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati under the International Election Visitors Programme (IEVP).

The two-day visit is aimed at promoting global collaboration and strengthening electoral processes through observation and exchange of best practices. The delegates will closely observe various aspects of election management, including polling procedures and administrative arrangements.

Officials stated that the visit reflects India’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in the field of democratic governance and electoral transparency. The programme is expected to provide an opportunity for knowledge-sharing and mutual learning among participating countries.-----------
