Jammu, 05 April (H.S.): To seek justice for the displaced unemployed left-over candidates, overaged section, relief holders and re-settlement of Pandits back to their land of origin, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) held a massive protest here, at Press Club today.
Hundreds of YAIKS volunteers, men and women participated in the demonstration under the leadership of YAIKS president, R K Bhat.
Addressing demonstrators R K Bhat said that Kashmiri Pandits were quite optimistic that the Narendra Modi led Government will take drastic steps in settling the issue of displaced Pandits from Valley, but unfortunately they too are adopting the policies of previous governments in this regard. Bhat asked the Government to start direct dialogue with YAIKS leadership, who are pioneers in reconnecting the displaced youth back to their land and origin, failing which they will be forced to launch agitation.
YAIKS stressed that the Government of India may re-establish an Apex Committee for Kashmiri Pandits under the Chairmanship of the Home Minister of India, with the mandate that a comprehensive return module be chalked out for the resettlement of Pandits.
The protesters appealed to GOI, Lt. Governor and Chief Minister to take cognizance of the issues of unemployed Left Over Candidates (LOC), who got justice from the court of law (CAT) and Government has been directed to appoint them under PM’s rehabilitation scheme. YAIKS said whosoever is ready to work in Kashmir Valley, should be provided jobs as per their eligibility rather than to ask for merit.
