New Delhi, 30 April (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several key dairy and cooperative sector projects Friday at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) in Leh, Ladakh. Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh and Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena will attend.

According to the Cooperation Ministry, the event will launch vital initiatives to strengthen Ladakh's dairy infrastructure. A 10-tonne-per-day capacity dairy plant foundation will be laid in Kargil, while curd and paneer production units will be inaugurated in Leh. Bulk milk cooler systems will also launch to enhance milk storage and transportation.

An Android-based Automated Milk Collection System (AMCS) app will launch to digitally empower cooperatives, ensuring transparency in milk procurement and smoother farmer payments.

A mobile milk testing laboratory will be flagged off to guarantee milk quality. MoUs will be signed among stakeholders to boost dairy product marketing and distribution, providing local producers better market access.

Progressive dairy farmers from the region will be honoured during the programme. This initiative advances the 'Sahkar se Samriddhi' vision, significantly empowering rural economies in remote areas.
