Barpeta, 3
April (HS): On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that
only the BJP-led NDA can clear Assam of infiltrators and avoid demographic
change. Adityanath,
speaking at a rally in Barpeta in favor of AGP candidate Dipak Kumar Das,
accused the Congress of failing to defend the state and its people during its
long reign in power. In Assam, the Congress held control for 60 years. However,
it simply increased infiltration, bloodshed, and rioting. He said that it
endangered local culture and traditions.
He also
targeted the AIUDF, claiming that it was supporting infiltrators and attempting
to gain control with their help. The Congress and AIUDF are collaborating to
damage the state's culture and traditions, he stated.
The chief
minister of Uttar Pradesh stated that the NDA administration will maintain peace
and safety in the state. Each infiltrator will be recognized and removed. He
stated that the BJP-led NDA will not tolerate love and land jihads, as well as
any changes in demographics.
Adityanath stated that the NDA will ensure virasat-vikas (tradition
and development) in all states where it is in power. Assam has seen enormous
transformations in the previous decade, and I encourage your continued support
for the NDA in this election, he added. He accused Congress of fleeing
the battlefield even before the election after the party's Barpeta candidate's
candidacy was cancelled. Elections to the 126-member Assembly will take place
on April 9, with results being announced on May 4.
