New Delhi, 29 April (H.S.): The 10th session of the India-Kenya Joint Trade Committee (JTC) convened in Nairobi on April 27-28, emphasizing strengthened bilateral trade and economic cooperation, with India emerging as a key trading partner for Kenya amid robust commerce growth to $4.31 billion.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that the meeting marked a significant step toward deepening trade ties. Both sides reviewed sustained bilateral trade expansion, noting India's position among Kenya's top partners. Total trade for FY 2025-26 reached $4.31 billion, reflecting a 24.91% increase from $3.45 billion in FY 2024-25.

Co-chaired by Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal from India's Ministry of Commerce and Principal Secretary Regina Akotha Om bam from Kenya's State Department of Trade, discussions focused on trade diversification, resolving market access barriers, and leveraging opportunities in engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and electronics.

The Ministry highlighted a dialogue organized by the India-Kenya Chamber of Commerce under Secretary Agarwal's chairmanship, engaging the local Indian business community and a CII trade delegation to explore business opportunities and experiences in Kenya.
