Lucknow,
April 25 (HS): Dr. Ramdas Athawale, National President of the Republican Party
of India (Athawale) and Union Minister, stated that his party will contest the
2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP). Athawale stated that he is building a strong block-level
organization in Uttar Pradesh to effectively raise the voice of the people in
the upcoming elections.
Speaking
to reporters in Lucknow, Athawale stated that the party is a key constituent of
the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the center. He stated that
the Republican Party of India will also contest elections in Uttar Pradesh in
alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He expressed his willingness to
contest 25 seats in alliance, but added that if this demand is not met, the
party will contest the elections alone.
He
said the party has a strong claim to Dalit-dominated seats in Uttar Pradesh.
Athawale called the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress party opponents of
women's reservation. He said both parties are anti-women and are working to
hinder their development. He said the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which was once
in power, now has only one seat. Athawale urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
to build a community hall in a Dalit-dominated village. He said that after the
community hall is built, Dalits should be given the responsibility of its
operation. RPI state president Pawan Gupta was also present with him on this
occasion. Pawan Gupta said that he would meet Chief Minister Yogi and the BJP
state president and submit a memorandum of his demands.
BJP
government to be formed in Bengal: Union Minister Athawale claimed that the BJP
will form a government in West Bengal. He said that the hooliganism of Mamata
Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) failed in West Bengal this time. This time,
there is a bumper turnout. We anticipate that a BJP-led NDA government will be
formed in West Bengal.
