Hooghly, 24 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a reflective pause from West Bengal's intense election campaigning Friday, sharing visuals of a tranquil boat ride on the Hooghly River in Kolkata where he photographed the iconic Vidyasagar Setu against a misty backdrop.
Seated aboard a wooden vessel with camera in hand, PM Modi framed the sweeping bridge cables and passing cargo ships, immersing himself in the waterway he reveres as Maa Ganga—the lifeblood of Bengal's cultural soul.
In an X post, he reflected: For every Bengali, the Ganga holds a special place, flowing through Bengal's very soul while carrying India's ancient civilisational spirit. The visit expressed gratitude to the sacred river central to millions' devotion.
PM Modi also met hardworking boatmen and early risers along the banks, praising their diligence and renewing pledges for the state's growth and residents' prosperity.
