New Delhi, 22 April (H.S.): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended Delhi Police Head Constable Ajay from the Dwarka Narcotics Cell red-handed while accepting a ₹2 lakh bribe Tuesday, exposing brazen corruption within the force.

The case stemmed from allegations that Ajay and unidentified accomplices demanded ₹15 lakh to shield a complainant from a fabricated narcotics case, insisting on ₹5 lakh as the initial tranche by April 21. CBI laid a trap, catching him mid-transaction.

Raids at his office premises yielded a staggering ₹48.87 lakh in unaccounted cash. Ajay faces arrest and rigorous probe into the graft racket.
