Nagpur, 20 Apr
(HS): The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has rejected a petition
demanding recovery of the Z-Security Services charges to RSS Sarsanghachalak
dDr Mohan Bhagwat from his personal account. The Public Interest Litigation was
initiated by Nagpur’s social worker Lalan Kishor Singh.
Justice
Chandrashekhar and Justice Anil Kilor, on Monday, rejected Singh’s application
and stated that the court will not entertain the issue. About Rs 40 to 45 lakh
are spent per month on security to Dr Bhagwat.
The petitioner
stated that RSS is not a registered organisation. Why should Z-Plus security
should be provided to its chief? The money is spent from people’s contribution
and should be recovered from Dr Bhagwta. The money spent is an additional burden
to the Government exchequer.
The petitioner
has quoted Union Government V/s Bikash Saha of 2023 case to support his claim.
The charges for providing security was underlined in that judgement.
Singh had made
representation to the officers concerned on February12 and 27, 2026. He moved
the court as no action was taken on the issue.
