Bokajan, 02 April (HS): Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state government while addressing an election rally in Bokajan, sharply criticizing the Chief Minister and the ruling party over alleged corruption and governance issues.
In his address, Gogoi raised allegations of multi-crore scams in the hill districts and accused the government of sheltering individuals linked to cattle and coal syndicates. He claimed that such activities have adversely affected governance and hindered the state’s development, leading to a decline in public trust.
Highlighting the unity of the Congress and the opposition alliance, Gogoi said that efforts are being made to build a “New Assam” and a “Greater Assam.” He also campaigned in support of Congress candidate Ratan Engti during the rally.
The Congress leader further targeted local leadership, including Tuliram Ronghang, stressing the need for the development of a “New Karbi Anglong.” He asserted that if the Congress forms the government in the state, it would ensure peace, development and progress.
Referring to his political journey, Gogoi said he continues to be guided by the ideals of his father, former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. He also reaffirmed his commitment to stand by the poor and marginalized sections of society and promised inclusive development.------------
