Nashik, 16 Apr (HS): The National Investigating

Agency (NIA) has been involved to investigate allegations of pressuring

employees for religious conversion in the Nashik unit of Tata Consultancy

Services. Nashik Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik said that NIA is involved

to verify foreign connection, if any, of the accused in this case.

Several complaints were received by the police

relating to sexual exploitation of women employees and pressure for their

religious conversion. The complainant have alleged use of abusive language

against Hindu God and Goddess. Karnik formed a Special Investigating Team (SIT)

which has verified the truth in the complaints and are investigating further.

The main accused have been named as Tausif Attar,

Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Shafi Sheikh and Asif Ansari. The female HR

Manager was also taken into the custody for interrogation.

So far nine offences have been registered, including

atrocities, pressure for religious conversion, sexual abuse etc.
