New Delhi, 16 April (H.S.):
Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has been provided Z-category security following repeated bomb threats and a recent security breach. CRPF commandos and Delhi Police personnel will now guard him round-the-clock.
Post-budget session starting March 23, the Assembly secretariat received six to seven threat-laden emails. A breach saw an intruder smash a gate and place an unidentified object in Gupta's vehicle, prompting the upgrade.
Z-security entails 24/7 dedicated escort, advanced surveillance, and a commando-led team shadowing all movements.
Automated boom barriers ensure rigorous checks at entrances. A CRPF Quick Reaction Team (QRT) with vehicles patrols premises continuously, neutralizing threats swiftly while securing members and staff.
